Bettors locked in $162.1 million in Kansas sports betting wagers during August 2026. The latest Kansas Lottery sports wagering report notes these state figures combine handle from online sportsbooks and four retail casino locations.
State Handle and Revenue Numbers
Statewide, sportsbooks took in $162,074,046 in total wagers during August, down from $167,291,073 in July, according to reports from the Kansas Lottery. Online wagering accounted for $160,715,225 of that total, while retail sportsbooks combined for $1,358,820.
After paying out $151,873,240 in prizes, along with Kansas sports betting promos deductions and federal excise taxes, sportsbooks reported $6,563,065 in net revenue for the month. That gives sportsbooks a hold of about 4.1 percent on the money wagered, down from a hold of roughly 7.3 percent in July, when net revenue reached $12,241,679.
Online Operator Results
DraftKings, operating through its partnership with Boot Hill Casino, led all online providers with $62,465,359 in wagers for the month. FanDuel followed at $56,084,939 through Kansas Star Casino. bet365 reported $12,926,892 in online handle, Fanatics brought in $12,521,328, BetMGM recorded $9,245,786, Caesars posted $4,520,181 and theScore took in $2,950,741. DraftKings and FanDuel combined accounted for more than 70 percent of the state's online handle in August. Seven providers reported online handle through Kansas betting apps in August.
Retail Wagering
Retail sportsbooks contributed a smaller share of the total. Boot Hill Casino took in $78,880, Kansas Star Casino recorded $316,818, Hollywood Casino posted $852,519 and Kansas Crossing Casino added $110,604. Combined, the four retail locations generated $87,222 in net revenue for August.
August Tax Revenue
Kansas collected $656,307 in tax revenue from sports wagering in August. Online wagering generated $647,584 of that share, while retail sportsbooks contributed $8,722. The state calculates its share from net revenues after subtracting prizes paid out, promotional deductions and federal excise taxes. The Kansas Lottery notes that these figures are unaudited and could be adjusted in later reporting.
