The NASCAR Cup Series hits Kansas Speedway in late September for a crucial playoff race. The Hollywood Casino 400 is the first race in the Round of 12, the second stage of the playoffs, in which 12 drivers will try to secure a win that will advance them into the Round of 8.
The 1.5-mile oval in Kansas City, Kansas, first hosted the top NASCAR series in 2001 and has held two Cup races per year since 2011. Five different drivers have won at Kansas in the past five races so Kansas sports betting should be interesting for this edition.
Odds are out for Sunday's for the Hollywood Casino 400:
The playoff field has been cut to 12, as Brad Keselowski, Harrison Burton, Martin Truex Jr. and Ty Gibbs have been eliminated. The points leader with seven races remaining this season is Kyle Larson, who dominated the field last week to win at Bristol Motor Speedway.
If any of the remaining 12 drivers in the playoffs win on Sunday, they will clinch a spot in the Round of 8.
Tyler Reddick, a +900 bet coming into last fall’s race, won at Kansas Speedway on Sept. 10, 2023. He's third on the odds board for Sunday, behind Larson and Denny Hamlin (+500).
Larson is the favorite this weekend at Kansas sportsbook apps to further cement himself as a contender to win his second Cup championship to go with his 2021 title.
NASCAR Results At Kansas: Top Kansas Speedway Drivers (since 2021)
In the past seven races on the 1.5-mile oval in Kansas City, Kansas, Larson is the only driver to find Victory Lane twice. That includes this season’s AdventHealth 400 on May 5. It was a memorable race: Larson led 63 of 268 laps and edged Chris Buescher by 0.001 seconds, the closest finish in Cup Series history. It was so close that both the television and radio broadcast teams initially announced Buescher as the winner, based on unofficial results that were posted.
Hamlin has the best average finish in the past seven Kansas races, at 4.4, including six top 10s. He has finished fifth or better in each of the past six races there, including a win in the 2023 spring race. The only other driver with six top-10 finishes at Kansas since 2021 is Truex Jr., Hamlin’s teammate with Joe Gibbs Racing.
