Basking in the glow of their 69-65 home men’s basketball victory over defending National Champion Connecticut last Friday, Kansas fans are not only preparing for another title run but in the immediate future, getting ready for the season as Christmas is less than three weeks away.
From shopping to parties, Kansans need a break every now and then to rejuvenate and keep the holiday cheer going.
Utilizing Google Trends, BetKansas.com took a break from Kansas sports betting and analyzed the most popular Christmas movies of state residents by looking at the search results of each movie over the past three Christmases. The movies included the 40 most popular Christmas movies over the past year based on global traffic from AhRefs. After the daily hustle and bustle of the holiday season, here is what Kansas is watching:

Two Classics Tied at the Top
There is a tie for the top spot in the Sunflower State as the classic “Home Alone” (1990) with Macauley Culkin (celebrating its 33rd anniversary this year) and “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” (2000) with Jim Carrey each had an interest rating of nine.
The “Home Alone” franchise was so successful since its original run 33 years ago, it currently includes six movies: “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York” (1992), “Home Alone 3” (1997), “Home Alone 4” (2002), “Home Alone: The Holiday Heist” (2012) and “Home Sweet Home Alone” (2021).
The legendary, animated flick “The Polar Express” (2004) with Tom Hanks and “Elf” (2003) with Will Ferrell tied for third with a seven rating. Another classic, "A Christmas Story" (1983) celebrates its 40th anniversary this season, rounding out the top 5 with a six rating.
